Honda cancel test session at Sepang following their rider’s death

SEPANG: Honda cancelled a planned test session for the new 1,000cc bikes to debut in the 2012 season at the Sepang circuit yesterday as they continue to mourn the loss of another of their own riders for the second time in eight years.

In 2003, Daijiro Kato died after sustaining severe neck and head injuries after crashing into a wall during the opening round of his home race in Suzuka. Daijiro was then trying to make his mark in the premier class after bagging the 250cc world title two years earlier.
