MALACCA: It was a case of so close yet so far for kumite (combat) exponent V. Devaraj (pic) in the World Junior and Cadet Karate Championships at the Malacca International Trade Centre yesterday.
The 17-year-old Devaraj, who was competing in the above 76kg category, was just a step away from bagging the bronze medal after making into the repechage rounds.
