Arif still has long way to go

KUALA LUMPUR: Singles shuttler Mohd Arif Abdul Latif is one of the most improved players under coach Hendrawan’s guidance but he is still struggling to make an impact on the international stage.

This was evident from the 22-year-old Arif’s 19-21, 12-21 loss to Japan’s Sho Sasaki in the opening round of the China Masters in Changzhou last week. With the defeat, Arif has yet to make a major breakthrough in international tournaments or score a sensational win over any of the top 10 players in the world.
