SEPANG: Petronas Syntium Team made it a memorable Malaysia Day weekend when they won the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race (MMER) by edging out favourites Belgian Audi Club in the 12-hour event at the Sepang International Circuit on Saturday night.
Starting off second on the grid during the flag-off at noon, Nobuteru Taniguchi, Masataka Yanagida and Dominic Ang, in a Mercedes SLS, staged a great fightback to win the GT Class race in 12’01:57.624. The trio completed a record 321 laps, breaking the previous mark by six laps.
