PETALING JAYA: Platform diver Pandelela Rinong showed that she is in a position to fight for her first podium finish in the world championships in July with a silver-medal performance in the German Open in Rostock.
The 18-year-old Sarawakian did not come close to challenging new Chinese diving prodigy Xing Yiying in the top-six final of the 10m platform event on Friday but her better consistency was enough to secure a second-place finish.
