SAN DIEGO (AP): Melanie Oudin stunned French Open champion Francesca Schiavone 6-3, 6-1 to keep the United States alive against defending champion Italy in the Fed Cup final Sunday.
With Billie Jean King watching from the front row, the 19-year-old Oudin dominated the 30-year-old Italian from midway through the first set to pull the United States to 2-1 in the best-of-five finale.
