Selected matches live on the internet

THE organisers of the Denmark Open are embracing the usage of Internet technology in getting connected with badminton followers around the globe.

The Badminton Association of Denmark’s press and communication manager, Trine Bay, said that they were continuing with their adventure in offering the live streaming of selected matches daily on the association’s website.

“We introduced the initiative last year. Besides the website, we are also using other social media as avenues to share the latest news with others,” she said.

“Our aim is to become an independent producer. We are at an early stage of enhancing an interesting new product. We need to fine tuning it and improve on its delivery. And we will also be transferring the expertise to showcase our national championships next year.”

Following the success of achieving almost 50,000 hits for their Open last year, they are setting a target of doubling the figure this time.

Badminton fans can visit to catch the action from Court 3 in the tournament venue at the Odense Sports Park.
