It’s not age but the willingness to work that is important

Malaysian athletes are preparing for two major events – the New Delhi Commonwealth Games (Oct 3-14) and the Guangzhou Asian Games (Nov 12-27). During this time, the Olympic Council of Malaysia’s (OCM) role becomes prominent. Today, OCM president Tan Sri Tunku Imran Tuanku Ja’afar shares his thoughts on a thorny issue – leadership in sports and its own set of challenges. This is the third part of a six-session held every two weeks on Thursday with The Star’s RAJES PAUL.

Starsport: Tunku, you were a vice-president with the OCM from 1986-1998 and you have been the president since 1998. As such, you are the longest serving office-bearer in OCM. What are the main differences in OCM under you and your predecessor Tan Sri Hamzah Abu Samah?
