PETALING JAYA: Malaysian pro S. Sivachandran kept his cool despite a strong late charge by Danny Chia to win the RM100,000 PGAM-KRPM Golf Classic at the Lakes Course of the Rahman Putra Golf Club in Sungai Buloh yesterday.
Sivachandran carded a two-under 70 on the final day to end the three-day tournament with an eight-under 208 total.
Danny posted the lowest score of five-under 67 to tie for the lead while Sivachandran was still battling on the course with seasoned campiagner R. Nachimuthu, who was also on seven-under.
However, Sivachandran eventually sealed the title by one stroke after completing the final day.
Nachimuthu eventually finished on joint third with fellow Serendah-mate M. Sasidaran.
The tournament was the second in the PGA’s local tour calendar, which kicked off last month with the PGAM Kinrara Classic which was won by Danny.
