MADRID: Just two seasons ago Pedro Rodriguez was playing for the Barcelona B team in the Third Division – fast forward to 2010 and the 22-year-old winger is in Barcelona’s first team and has become the first player to score in six different club competitions in a single season.
Pedro has nudged French great Thierry Henry out of the starting line-up starting both Champions League quarter-final legs against Arsenal and the 2-0 El Clasico win over Real Madrid on April 10. A Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan could be next with the winger, a product of the cantera or youth system, in contention for a starting place for today’s first leg at the San Siro after scoring some big goals of late.
