Fattah beats the odds to win a medal in 200m sprint

PETALING JAYA: Youngster Mohd Fattah Amri Zaid brought joy to the country on the last day of the Asian Cycling Championships with a gutsy ride to the bronze medal in the men’s junior 200m sprint at Zayed Velodrome in Sharjah yesterday.

The 18-year-old Fattah had agonisingly missed out on a place in the final after losing the decider to South Korean Han Jae-ho. However, he displayed strength of character to bounce back and beat Japan’s Hiroshi Kimura in the shoot-out for the bronze.
