Webber takes F1 pole in Malaysian Grand Prix

SEPANG, Malaysia (AP) - Red Bull's Mark Webber has taken pole position for the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix while the Ferrari and McLarens will start near the back of the grid after a gamble on the weather backfired.

Webber took pole ahead of Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel after a qualifying which was temporarily stopped due to heavy rain.

Force India's Adrian Sutil was fourth, ahead of Williams' Nico Hulkenberg.

The Ferraris and the McLarens miscalculated that rain would clear in the opening qualifying session, and waited to start, but conditions worsened.
