Chan’s maiden final, Fairuzizuan-Zakry also in contention for first Open title


KUANTAN: Youngster Chan Kwong Beng (pic) and the experienced men’s doubles pair of Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari-Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif scored a first in the Pahang Open yesterday.

Kwong Beng, who used to be the whipping boy in the national training squad, stunned former international Mohd Roslin Hashim to set up a meeting with top seed Lee Chong Wei in today’s men’s singles final at the Pahang Sports Complex Indoor Stadium.
