Athletics:Watson’s protege Ambrose runs away with 100m title


KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak’s Ambrose Jilom ran the race of his life, clocking a personal best to win the boys’ Under-18 100m final in the national schools (MSSM) athletics championships at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.

Ambrose, who is trained by former national sprinter Watson Nyambek, clocked 10.98 to finish ahead of Perak’s P. Cyrus Krishnen by just 0.01 seconds. Penang’s Mohd Azlan Abu Bakar took the bronze in 11.01.
