ALOR SETAR: Kedah kept alive their hopes of entering the AFC Cup knockout stage after mauling Hanoi ACB of Vietnam 7-0 in their Group G match at the Darulaman Stadium here last night.
The absence of the suspended duo Mohd Khyril Muhymeen and Badrol Bakhtiar was hardly felt as their replacements Azrul Ahmad and Farizal Rozali combined to score three first half goals for the Malaysians. Mohd Afif Amiruddin (64th) and Sabre Abu (69th) got on the score-sheet in the second half before Azrul completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot 11 minutes from the end. Shahrulnizam Mustapha then completed the rout with a deflected shot deep into injury time.
