KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia ended the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) with two silver medals on the final day of competition in Sydney yesterday for a total haul of 4-2-1.
Shooter Wahidah Ismail won a silver in the women’s 25m pistol event, scoring 744.2 to finish behind Britain’s Hannah Polak (753.0). Australian Yvonne Foster (735.3) took the bronze.
On Saturday, Wahidah won the gold in the 10m air pistol. In three days of shooting competitions, Malaysia had a medal haul of 4-1-1.
Malaysia’s other silver medal yesterday came from diving. The duo of Pandelela Rinong Pamg and Traisy Vivien Tukiet scored 294.87 in the 10m platform synchronised event to finish behind China’s Feng Linghui and Xu Zhihuan. Britain’s Jennifer Cowen and Aimee Walker took the bronze.
Malaysia took part in nine sports in the AYOF.
