Malaysian trio assured of starting place in world team sprint event


KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia are assured of a starting place in the men’s team sprint competition of the World Championships in Poland after Mohd Edrus Yunus, Josiah Ng and Rizal Tisin finished fifth in the Beijing leg of the UCI Track World Cup yesterday.

Edrus, Josiah and Rizal just missed out on making it to the finals for the fourth leg of the World Cup meet when they clocked the fifth fastest qualifying time of 45.720 at the Laoshan Velodrome, the venue of the Beijing Olympic track cycling competition last year.
