LANGKAWI: The Malaysian Yachting Association (MYA) are hoping that their five sailors for the International Optimist Dinghy Association’s (IODA) Asian Championship in Doha from Oct 24 to Nov 1 can churn out golden performances.
The MYA general manager, Mohd Afendy Abdullah, said that the sailors had undergone three months of training at the Langkawi National Sailing Training Centre where they sailed under wind speeds reaching 10 to 12 knots, which were similar to conditions in Doha.
