KUALA LUMPUR: Youngster Mohd Arif Abdul Latif let slip a chance to qualify for his first-ever quarter-final in a senior international tournament, crashing out in the third round of the men’s singles competition of the Taiwan Open in Taipei yesterday.
He was beaten 16-21, 15-21 by unheralded Japanese Koichi Saeki. It was his first match in the tournament after receiving a first-round bye and a second-round walkover on Wednesday.
