EUGENE (Oregon): Distance runner Kara Goucher qualified for a second event at the US Olympic trials on Friday, but her joy was tinged with sadness after her husband failed to join her in the squad for next month's Beijing Games.
The 10,000m world bronze medallist had already booked her spot in the US squad at that event and she will double up in the Chinese capital after clocking 15:01.02 in the 5,000m to claim her first national title.
