Russian players Svetlana Kuznetsova, Dinara Safina and Nikolay Davydenko advanced to the second round of the French Open yesterday in another rain-hit day at Roland Garros.
The start of play was delayed by 2 hours, 50 minutes. The fourth-seeded Kuznetsova defeated Aiko Nakamura of Japan 6-2, 6-3 before the rain returned for about three more hours.
