RIJEKA (Croatia): A superb header by captain Niko Kovac gave Croatia a 1-0 win over Moldova in their penultimate Euro 2008 warm up in front of 8,000 home fans in the northern Adriatic port of Rijeka on Saturday.
The 36-year old Kovac, who has announced he will retire from international soccer after the June 7-29 tournament in Austria and Switzerland, rose above his markers to power home an Ivan Rakitic corner on the half hour.
