PETALING JAYA: A barrage of birdies catapulted national player Nicholas Fung to the lead after the first round of the stroke play competition of the 106th Malaysian Amateur Open at Kelab Golf Negara Subang yesterday.
The Sabahan carded seven birdies and dropped only one shot for a six-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead over another national player, Arie Irawan, and Filipino Ferdinand Aunzo.
