MADRID: The Spanish government and the country's football federation have reached an agreement regarding elections for the sports body that they hope would appease FIFA and remove the threat of being barred from the European Championship, Spanish media reported on Tuesday.
The Spanish federation, the RFEF, originally had scheduled elections for October, but the Spanish government ordered all sports that did not qualify for the Olympics to hold new votes before the start of the Beijing Games in August.
