KUALA LUMPUR: Swimmer Marellyn Liew (pic) indicated that she is ready to make a splashing debut in the SEA Games when she set a national record in the President's Cup (national inter-club) championships at National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil yesterday.
The 17-year-old Sabahan, representing Blue Marlin Swimming Club, clocked 1:02.67 in winning the girls' Under-17 100m butterfly event. She had equalled Cindy Ong's national mark of 1:02.98, set at the 2004 Malaysian Open in Seremban in September.
