KTM Red Bull riders – Hiroshi Aoyama of Japan and Mika Kallio of Finland – upstaged reigning 250cc world champion Jorge Lorenzo in the qualifying session at the Sepang Circuit yesterday.
Aoyama bagged his first pole position of the season with a flawless run of 2:07.429 while Kallio was just 0.032s slower, though it was enough to put him ahead of the Spanish world champion.
