SHANGHAI: World champion Tyson Gay denied shooting down a 100m rematch with arch-rival Asafa Powell after limping into second place at the Golden Grand Prix here.
Gay, a triple sprint champion at the Osaka world championships, crawled home in 10.02 seconds to finish behind training partner Wallace Spearmon's 9.96 on Friday.
