KUALA LUMPUR: It will be an all-Klang Valley affair when SMK Raja Abdullah from Kuala Lumpur takes on SMK Seksyen 11 of Selangor in the 100PLUS Super Cup national champion schools Under-15 football final at the Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) field in Bangi today (4pm).
The Selangor side, who emerged runners-up last year, had to overcome SMK Kuala Nerang of Kedah 2-1 in the semi-finals while the SMK Raja Abdullah defeated SMK King Edwards III of Perak 2-0 in the other semi-final yesterday.
Two goals from Mohd Nazrul in the 20th and 50th minute were enough to give SMK Seksyen 11 their place in the final although SMK Kuala Nerang did attempt a fightback with a strike from Mohd Ridzuan in the 49th minute.
We are improving from game to game, said SM Seksyen 11 coach Mohd Haris Lajid.
But I believe that the final against SMK Raja Abdullah will be tough because they have a strong tradition in this age-group competition.
SMK Raja Abdullah made sure of their appearance in the final this year when Mohd Najib scored a brace in the 18th and 34th minutes to give the KL side the well-deserved win.
