TORONTO: Its known as the Great White North, where sports fans are obsessed with ice hockey. But this summer, Canada is set to melt that frigid image as it hosts the Under-20 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament.
The month-long series of matches, being billed as the biggest single-sport event ever held in Canada, kicks off today in Montreal and Ottawa with games also being played at venues across the country from Toronto to Victoria on the Pacific coast.
