PETALING JAYA: World women's squash champion Nicol David has emerged as the frontrunner in a list of six candidates for the 100PLUS/SAM Sports Award 2006 which will be held on July 5 here.
The other athletes in contention for the top award at the Sportswriter's Association of Malaysia (SAM) annual event next month are Sazali Samad (Body Building), Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Hiong (Badminton), Siti Zalina Ahmad (Lawn Bowls), Chai Fong Ying (Wushu) and Esther Chia (Ten-pin bowling).
