Singapore’s Kun Yang claims amateur title by two shots

KOTA KINABALU: Singapore's Goh Kun Yang upstaged overnight leader Anirban Lahiri of India to win the 105th Transview Malaysian Amateur Open by two strokes at the Nexus Golf Resort in Karambunai near here yesterday.

“It's an indescribable feeling winning like this. I was very disappointed with my second round of 79 but to come back with two sub-par rounds and five strokes back on the final day to win, is unbelievable,” said Goh, who is only the second Singaporean to have won the tournament. Mardan Mamat achieved the feat in 1994.
