Badminton: Chong Wei gets past first round

JOHOR BARU: Top seed and defending champion Lee Chong Wei, still bothered by a running nose, cleared his first hurdle in the US$125,000 Yonex-Sunrise Asian Badminton Championships (ABC) at the Indoor Stadium here yesterday.

The Hashim brothers, Mohd Hafiz and Mohd Roslin, also advanced to the second round and they were joined by veteran Wong Choong Hann, who is fighting to regain his form since making a comeback after a long layoff because of an Achilles tendon rupture, which he suffered in the Thomas Cup Finals in Japan last May.
