JOHOR BARU: The Perak FA will raise funds for the Johor flood victims with an inaugural Datuk Zahid Hamidi Cup match between the state Super League side and the newly-formed Premier League outfit, UPB-My Team.

The match will be played at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh on Friday (kick off 8.45pm) and tickets have been priced at RM5.

“Football in Malaysia has a social responsibility and through the gate takings from this game, I hope we can assist the unfortunate people in Johor,” said Zahid, who is also the Perak FA president.

“The administration of UPB-My Team have been outstanding in their support of this game.”

The players for the match have agreed to donate their match fee to the fund.

Perak coach Steve Darby said that his team would be strengthened by the return of internationals K. Nanthakumar and Chan Wing Hoong.

The duo featured in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Championship where Malaysia were eliminated by Singapore in the semi-finals.

However, Perak will be without the pre-Olympic squad players – goalkeeper Nasril Nourdin and defenders S. Subramaniam and Azlan Zainal for the match.
