Russia take charge


MOSCOW: Marat Safin and Dmitry Tursunov handed Russia a crucial 2-1 lead in the Davis Cup final with a convincing doubles victory over David Nalbandian and Agustin Calleri of Argentina here yesterday. 

The Russians claimed a 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 victory in one hour and 38 minutes to give the hosts a crucial lead going into today’s deciding reversed singles rubbers.
