Malacca’s fnal berth depends on Negri-Penang outcome

JOHOR BARU: Defending champions Malacca will have to wait another day to know whether they qualify for the Division One final in the Razak Cup hockey tournament despite a big 7-2 win over Pahang in their last six-team round-robin preliminary round fixture at the Johor Baru City Council AstroTurf Stadium yesterday.

The big win has, however, placed the champs in a strong position to make the final as they have a better superior goal difference of plus nine (19-10) and that means their fellow contender Negri Sembilan must beat Penang by more than 10 goals in their last tie today for a place in the final.
