SYDNEY: Swimming superstar Ian Thorpe will receive no special favours for World Championships selection if he contests only one event at next month’s national trials, national head coach Alan Thompson reportedly said yesterday.
Thorpe’s coach Tracey Menzies says the five-time Olympic champion’s health problems could restrict him to just one event at the Brisbane trials from Dec 3-10.
