KUALA LUMPUR: Some of the top athletes in the country have yet to qualify for the Asian Games – and the National Sports Council fear that they may miss out on a focused training programme if they leave it till late to make the cut for Doha.
Among those who have yet to make the Asiad squad on merit are swimmers Lim Keng Liat, Siow Yi Ting and Daniel Bego, diver Leong Mun Yee; the archery team members including Mohd Marbawi Sulaiman and S. Anbarasi; high jumper Lee Hup Wei, gymnasts Ng Shu Wai and the rhythmic team; karate exponent R. Puvaneswaran; and shooter Mohd Hameleay Abdul Mutalib.
