LOS ANGELES: Double world champion Rashid Ramzi of Bahrain ran the fastest 1,500m on American soil to defeat Olympic silver medallist Bernard Lagat at the Adidas Track Classic in Carson, California on Sunday.
The Moroccan-born Ramzi passed Lagat in the final 300m and won in 3:32.24, to eclipse the US all-comers record of 3:32.53 set by former British world record holder Sebastian Coe in winning the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
