NAMUR (Belgium): German rider Stefan Schumacher won the third stage of the Giro d’Italia and also took the overall lead here on Monday.
The 24-year-old – celebrating his first win in the Tour – came home two seconds ahead of Jose Luis Rubiera of Spain while experienced Italian Davide Rebellin was third six seconds adrift.
