BERLIN: Estimates that up to 40,000 women forced into prostitution will enter Germany to cater to football fans during the World Cup in June and July are pure speculation, a German government official said yesterday.
There was no evidence whatsoever for the tally, said Gregor Rosenthal, who is the government's top official dealing with World Cup security. He said the police had no concrete figures on such trafficking.
