PETALING JAYA: Hosts Malaysia will be hard pressed to get a favourable result in the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) women's Under-19 football championships, which kicks off at the Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) Stadium in Cheras today.
The Malaysian team, who qualified by virtue of being hosts, face a baptism of fire in the tournament. Some of the better-ranked teams from South-East Asia like Thailand, Myanmar and Singapore were all eliminated in the qualifying stages.
