SINGAPORE: Home favourite Mardan Mamat held his nerve down the back nine to claim a one-stroke victory over defending champion Nick Dougherty at the Singapore Masters yesterday.
The 38-year-old Singaporean fired a final round one-under 71 for a 12-under 276 total at the $1mil co-sanctioned European and Asian Tour event, becoming the first Singaporean to triumph in a tour event on home soil.
