PM wants organisers to lighten up

MELBOURNE: Prime Minister John Howard has advised Commonwealth Games organisers to lighten up after they threatened bans and massive fines for media outlets that reveal opening ceremony secrets.

Organisers, frustrated at their inability to keep details of the March 15 opening ceremony at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) under wraps, persuaded the Victoria state government to slap A$240,000 fines on media that broadcast rehearsals without permission.
