KUALA LUMPUR: The FIFA World Cup Trophy arrived in Malaysia yesterday on its inaugural journey to 31 cities in 29 countries ahead of the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany from June 9-July 9.
The 6,175gm 18 carat gold trophy will be displayed at the Berjaya Times Square today and tomorrow.
Created by Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga, the 36cm tall trophy has engraved on it the names of the World Cup winners since 1974.
The global tour, which started in January in South Africa, had stopped in North America, South America, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Indonesia. Bernama
