KUALA LUMPUR: The 2006 Malaysian Grand Prix fever is set to begin today with Formula One road show kicking off in Penang.
Sepang International Circuit (SIC), the promoters and organisers of the event, have drawn up a three-day programme at the Gurney Plaza offering lots of goodies and prizes for racing fans, including tickets to catch the race live at the Sepang Circuit here next month.
For the first time, the SIC are also offering special discount tickets for students. Priced at RM25, the tickets are for hillstand G.
SIC general manager Datuk Ahmad Mustafa said the special tickets could only be bought at the F1 road shows besides at SIC.
The new F1 season opens in Bahrain on March 12 followed by the eighth edition of the Malaysian GP from March 17-19.
The other roadshows are scheduled for Berjaya Megamall in Kuantan (Feb 10-12), City Square, Johor Baru (Feb 17–19); Mahkota Parade, Malacca and Langkawi (Feb 24–26); KL Sentral K.Lumpur, Berjaya Times Square (March 3–5); Genting Highlands, One Utama, Bandar Utama (March 8-12); and Bukit Bintang Plaza; K. Lumpur (March 16–18).
Tickets for the 2006 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix can be bought at the circuit or at the SIC office in KL Sentral Kuala Lumpur.
