KUALA LUMPUR: The girl exponents from Koryowon Taekwondo Academy stamped their mark in the Under-17 category of the NSC-Milo national inter-club championships at the Gymnasium II of the National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil here yesterday.
Their exponents won five out of the 10 finals contested in the category to put Koryowon on top of the medal standings on 5-2-7 after the first day of competition.
National juniors Nurul Asfahlina and Koh Jen Li outclassed their rivals in the bantamweight and lightweight categories respectively.
The other gold medallists for Koryowon were Adriana Noryasmin (fin), Nurul Afigah Harun (welter) and Nor Aslinda (light-middle).
Bangsar Taekwondo Fitness Club (BTFC) are now in second place in the standings on 5-1-1. They took three gold medals in the girls' Under-13 division and one each in the boys' Under-13 and girls' Under-17 competitions.
Gemilang Taekwondo Club also finished high in the medals standings on 4-8-5, thanks largely to their three-gold haul in the girls' Under-13 division.
The other clubs who did well in the junior categories were Warisan Taekwondo Club on 4-1-3 and Viva Taekwondo Club on 3-1-3.
