ISTANBUL: Turkey lashed out on Thursday at FIFA president Sepp Blatter for blaming their national side for scuffles between players after a playoff match that saw Switzerland qualify for the 2006 World Cup Finals.
UEFA’s Turkish vice-president Senes Erzik said he was “stunned” that Blatter put the blame on Turkey even before observers wrote their reports on the incidents after the match in Istanbul on Wednesday.
