Trinidad declares public holiday


PORT OF SPAIN (Trinidad): Trinidad and Tobago declared a public holiday on Thursday to celebrate the nation's soccer victory against Bahrain that sent them to the World Cup Finals for the first time. 

The twin-island nation made the Finals on Wednesday when they defeated Bahrain 1-0 in Manama. With 1.1 million citizens, the Caribbean country is the smallest taking part in the 2006 Finals in Germany.
