PENANG: It took a 36-year-old veteran athlete to lift the gloom surrounding the 82nd Malaysian Open Athletics Championships on the second day of the competition at the City Stadium here yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur's S. Ganeson became the first Malaysian athlete to qualify for the Manila SEA Games from this year's national meet in the men's 1500m event.
