THE Malaysian team were treated to dinner by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak at a Thai restaurant on Tuesday night.
Najib and his family are on holiday in Los Angeles since Sunday and they decided to come over to Anaheim, which is more than one hour's drive away.
At the dinner, Najib urged the players to give their best shots to bring glory to the country.
“Badminton is one of the sports where Malaysian players are of world-class standard,” said Najib, who also heads the Cabinet Committee on Sports.
“I hope all of you will fight to the best of your ability in the world meet. Hopefully, we will see a Malaysian playing this weekend.”
Najib had said earlier that he planned to catch the semi-final action on Saturday but indicated he would stay back if a Malaysian features in the final.
